Tracy J Hoffman

Tracy has spent years helping businesses with strategy, intellectual property and business development. At the same time, she has experienced the challenges of building her own businesses.

That combination taught her something important: entrepreneurs rarely lack ideas or information. More often, they lack time, clarity, energy or a clear place to start. Sometimes they already know what the problem is — but change feels overwhelming, there are too many competing priorities, or they simply feel stuck.

The challenge isn't always knowing what needs to change. It's turning that knowledge into a clear next step and finding the momentum to move forward.

Her own background is unusually broad. It spans entrepreneurship, intellectual property, international cooperation, finance and administration, business processes, leadership, technology, marketing, AI — and hands-on experience from hospitality, retail, food service and sales.

That mix of strategic and practical experience is part of what eventually became TSwedeBiz.

From intellectual property to international business

Tracy spent 13 years at the Swedish Intellectual Property Office (PRV), working across finance, administration, marketing, international cooperation and program management.

For six years, she worked with international intellectual property training and cooperation connected to Sida and WIPO. The programs brought together senior professionals and decision-makers from developing and emerging economies for advanced training in intellectual property and its role in economic and business development.

Her work wasn't limited to administration from Sweden. Tracy helped coordinate international conferences and programs and would often travel ahead of participants to make sure venues, hotel rooms and practical arrangements were ready before the group arrived.

She worked in international environments involving IP experts, government representatives, ambassadors and other senior stakeholders and became accustomed to taking care of international groups in conference and training environments.

Before leaving PRV, Tracy became Program Manager for International Cooperation & Technical Assistance. One of her final projects was putting together a three-week intellectual property training program in Sweden for 27 participants from 14 countries, coordinating experts, schedules, budgets, reporting and the overall delivery.

Across six years of international cooperation, her work included planning and delivering training programs, conferences, study visits and seminars, coordinating participants and international partners, and working closely with Sida, WIPO and IP experts.

Tracy has travelled to approximately 25 countries across Europe, Africa, Asia, North America and South America and has extensive experience communicating and working across cultures. She has also lived abroad, including six months in San Diego and a period working in Mallorca.

Intellectual property & business strategy

Today, Tracy advises businesses on intellectual property and business strategy and is an EUIPO-trained IP Scan Expert.

Her work has included trademarks, copyright, designs, patents, agreements and ownership issues, brand protection and helping businesses understand how intellectual property can support their commercial strategy.

She has also spoken and trained on subjects including brand protection, IP strategy and copyright challenges related to AI.

Her approach is practical: intellectual property shouldn't sit separately from the business. What you create, how you protect it, how you communicate it and how you make money from it are connected.

Experience from many sides of business

Tracy's experience wasn't built only in advisory roles, public-sector offices and international conference rooms.

Earlier in her working life, she worked across cafés, pizza and hamburger restaurants, health food retail, grocery retail, hotel cleaning, breakfast service and hotel reception.

She also worked in sales, including selling timeshare in Mallorca for RCI.

Later came finance, administration, business systems, marketing, leadership, international programs, entrepreneurship and strategic advisory.

This gives her a practical understanding of businesses where the customer is standing in front of you and things simply have to work — hospitality, food, retail and other service businesses — as well as businesses dealing with more complex strategic and organizational challenges.

She has also experienced working life from different sides of the table.

For more than a decade, Tracy held senior union leadership roles at PRV, representing employees in negotiations, agreements and individual settlements and working closely with HR on policies and workplace issues.

She has also been an entrepreneur, CEO and board member, giving her perspectives from employee, leader, entrepreneur, advisor and organization — not just one side of business.

From non-technical founder to AI

Around 7.5 years ago, Tracy started her first tech startup and worked closely with a developer as a non-technical founder to build an app.

The product was never launched, but the experience taught her about software development, project coordination and the difference between having an idea and actually turning one into a working digital product.

When ChatGPT became publicly available, Tracy began experimenting with AI early and has since incorporated it into her daily work.

Today she uses AI practically across business analysis, strategy, administrative processes, content, marketing, automation and the development of digital solutions.

She isn't approaching AI as a software engineer. She approaches it as an entrepreneur and business strategist asking: Where can this actually make a business better?

Building businesses — and understanding what it's like when it doesn't work

Tracy has been an entrepreneur for around seven years.

That experience includes building businesses, testing ideas, developing offers, working internationally — and experiencing first-hand what happens when an idea doesn't work as expected.

That experience became important when developing TSwedeBiz.

The platform isn't based on the assumption that entrepreneurs simply need more information. There is already an overwhelming amount of information available.

The harder questions are often: What is actually wrong? What opportunity am I missing? What deserves my attention now? And where do I start?

Communication, social media & audience building

Tracy has built a combined social media audience of around 20,000 followers, largely organically and without relying on large advertising budgets.

Her largest audience is on TikTok, with almost 16,000 followers, where she has spent significant time experimenting with content, building communities and engaging directly with audiences through live streaming.

She has hosted her own TikTok Lives and has extensive practical experience with live content and direct audience interaction.

She has also run a TikTok agency, giving her experience not only as a creator but from the business side of social media — helping turn platforms, content and audiences into tools for communication and marketing.

That hands-on experience feeds directly into her work with businesses: understanding how to communicate value, create content people respond to, build audiences and use social media as part of a broader business strategy.

Why TSwedeBiz brings it all together

A marketing problem may actually be an offer problem. A growth problem may be a process problem. A great idea may need protection. A business owner may have dozens of opportunities but no idea which one deserves attention first. Sometimes they already know what needs to change — but don't have the energy, clarity or momentum to start.

And AI can make a business faster — but if you're solving the wrong problem, it can simply help you do the wrong things faster.

That's why Tracy doesn't see business development, intellectual property, communication, AI and implementation as separate subjects. They are different parts of building a business.

The goal of TSwedeBiz is to help entrepreneurs see what's possible in their business, rediscover the ideas, energy and excitement to build it — and gain the clarity and structure to actually move forward.
